Upon being given a small task in class to examine the differences in photos between lens sizes I found that the longer the lens the better, especially when taking close-ups. The 70mm lens and the 105 mm lens were much more flattering for the subjects face than the 18 mm, which tended to warp the subjects face in an odd way. The 18mm could come in handy for shooting a subject that you may not really want to look attractive, however it could just be looked at as not being well thought through. It could also come in handy for scenes in which I am wanting to display the background and set more than the character. I am definitely going to opt for the longer lens in future shoots as I usually write my character's to be like-able as well as attractive, unless I am wanting my audience to concentrate on some feature in the background.

  1. Excellent work, Brogan. One of the most pleasing aspects of this for me is that you have contextualized the lessons learnt from this exercise and have a clear plan for your own work in future. GOOD STUFF!
